cracked ipad screen :(
So fluke accident (ipad fell on top of my coffee cup) left my ipad with a cracked screen...what options do I have to get it replaced or repaired with the Nazi's at the Apple store?

Apple's customer service people are not "nazi's." They are actually very accommodating if you aren't a dick.
Couple questions: - How old is the iPad? - I assume you don't have Applecare? - Have you ever fixed a TV, amplifier, cell phone, camera, or GPS? In other words- how comfortable/competent are you with this type of thing?

Ok sorry for hurting everyone's vaginas.....I will dial my bitch down a bit....regarding the DIY route, I've built motors from scratch and build my own desktops...although I don't know why I still do that (desktops that is)..but I've never dabbled in the laptop/tablet world before....

When did you purchase this iPad? And if you used an AMEX card and its within 90 days I believe, its covered just call AMEX and they will pay for the repair bill.

it depends on were you live and sometimes when you go in. I got my MBP back and noticed the battery was replaced with an old one. They would not give me a new/better battery.
@Five-Seven I had the black line on my iPad. Took it back and they gave me a refurbish one. The transaction is a little jaded cause my iPad 3 was only 3 months old and it was a software issue which they fixed 2 months after I got the battery hungry iPad 3. My 1st iPad battery last 7-8hrs. The refurbish last around 2-3hrs. OP check around your area for a local repair shop that works on Apple products. They will probably be near a college campus. In my area there are two near the campus that are cheaper and good if not better than the Apple store.
