How to redrill brake disc...

Hi guys,

How can i change a brake disc 5x114 to fit it on my 5x120???
Has anyone knows or gives me any link or video???

Can you tell me the positive things of this project????

I would not recommend "re-drilling" your brake disc. You will seriously compromise the safety of your brakes, and that's not the correct way to change the bolt pattern anyway. You should either buy an adapter, or get new hardware (hub, rotor, etc) that matches the 5x120 bolt pattern.

You can do it on a milling machine or a drill press if your really careful. Just need to lay it out properly and put the holes in between the existing ones. The holes can probably be a little sloppy because the center register of the hub locates the rotor not the lug bolts. From your post though it seems like your not very experienced with stuff like this? Why would you want to in the first place? New rotors are pretty cheap to buy new ones. Probably cheaper that the price of having someone redrill yours.

Just out of curiosity, would you drill extra holes in your rotors and mount them on your car, or would you buy the correct rotors?

OP, glad to hear you're getting the proper sized rotors. Also, don't goof around with brake pads. OE is textar, but Jurid and Pagid also use the same compound, as far as I know.

If you were to do it you would drill extra holes in the rotor. No big deal. It's been done many times before by American hot rod and classic car guys when you swap and upgrade older cars using junkyard components . In these situations you cannot just buy rotors for $30 each so you do what you have to. It's plenty safe. So the ones saying its not safe are you mechanical Engineers. not a bust on anyone but it is safe and can be done. Just no reason too.

+1 I came from the rodding world, then lifted trucks, then lowriders, and we did alot of crazy $hit on those vehicles.

So i want to put Audi brake disc to Porsche Cayenne calipers because the diametre of this rotors is 365x36...
Everythink the BMW has isn't correct about the offset of the rotors so i will have problem...

If you do it, make sure the hole in the center of the rotor is the same as what's on the car now. It's a precise fit and it locates the rotor directly in the center of the hub.
