I'm leaving my E46!
A very tough decision but as you may have noticed from my F/S threads I've decided to part my 2004 330Ci out. I've owned that car for 9.5 years and we've been through so much together. We've won SQ comps, drag raced, and did many hours on the track. The best part was on the track, I'd catch a corvette in the corners. The vette would expect to blow me away on the straight...but I'd stay with them...in a 330! I do love this car. I've always gotten out of it with a smile on my face. The car is in amazing condition...the paint is better than most E90s out there. She has been the best companion.
I really wanted to keep it. The plan was to drive it until I die. But things change like BMW inventing an AWESOME 4.0L V8. I DD an E90 M3 and then had this as a track car. But it doesn't make sense. An FI'd 330 on the track is not reliable. They are fine on the street though. The MS45 DME is a massive PIA. The only real way to make it reliable for track use is to spend about $11.5k for a built engine, stand alone, and tune it. I could buy a new 330 for that. Even then the M54 is just not made for it. I start taking off the supercharger and return the car close to stock next week. So long good friend! I hope she finds as good a home as I gave her or even better! ![]() Some parting pics. First...stock and brand new back in Sep 2003. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Action Videos |

I'm not leaving for long. Hello 2004 M3! Its got 99,200 miles on it and its Red on Red...AND its a 6SP! I've seen these going for close to $20k...got it for less. The paint is not so great but it covers the metal. The front bumper needs to be replaced. It runs fabulous and the interior is in really good shape except for the pillars and mirror. My new track car...here's the planned build:
TC Kline D/A coilovers (have) TMS rear adj control arms (have) RTAB limiters (have) Vorshlag camber plates Stoptech BBK - front and rear 4.10 gears UUC SSK + DSSR Apex ARC8s with 275 Nitto NT01s (have) Bimmerworld exhaust SS Headers Software (not sure who's yet) Sabelt seats and Schroth harnesses (have) Stipped interior Sunroof delete Pulleys (not sure who's yet) 4pt cage Carbon hood and trunk Aero (lip, splitter, wing) Eventually maybe put on a CSL style intake with Alpha-N...but I'll have to do a lot of research. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As soon as I saw the second post, I said to myself "He better put the CSL intake and run Alpha-N on this."
Kept reading, and sure enough. Can't wait to see where this goes. For the love of Jesus don't put black ARC-8s on it.

That is an inline oil filter.
Not sure about Alpha-N. Wanna stay close to stock on the engine at this point. Need to do lots of research. I learned my lesson with the 330. Also never planned on getting an E46 M3 so I never paid close attention. |

So what do you want for the M3 wheels? or are you keeping them for backup?

If you cut and polished that red paint it would look good again. Right now it's pretty bad. What did the PO wash it with? Steel wool?

Those wheels are curbed pretty bad and I have to keep them for awhile.
It was a private sale with some auto garage...so no recon was done. |

Did your OBM coupe have Bi-xenons? If so, how much for the sensors and ballasts and headlight assemblies?
