New Deck with HK

Hey guys, I'm just in the process of getting a 325CI with Harman/Kardon audio and have a couple of questions. I haven't been able to find a straight answer to this anywhere, but if I change the deck, and leave the HK system the way it is, do I just wire the speaker level outputs from the new deck into the harness normally? Does anyone have any experience with leaving the HK system the way it is and just adding a sub in terms of how it will sound, and lastly can anyone recommend the best, or easiest kit to convert the car to double din. Thanks!

jtmeyer,
I am not an expert on the HK system (yet - I'm still trying to find someone to give me the specs on the system). But from past experience with integration of OEM and aftermarket, most people run into problems. I would do a lot of searches and really try to figure out who has successfully done EXACTLY what you want to do. Then you may want to PM them to see if anything changed for the worse after they did it and posted the good results (this happens -- amps fry, speakers blow, etc.). Most of all, ask them if they are still happy with their decision.
Usually it's an all-or-nothing proposition...all OEM with some aftermarket simple add-ons (bluetooth, ipod, etc), or undergoing a full gutting and replacing operation.
