Rear Diffuser Installed!!! Pics inside.
Just wanted to share with you guys.
Diffuser: I wanted to get one that would fit well. After doing some research I found out the Z-Shift diffuser was one of the better fitting ones and came with a perfect fitment guarantee. I contacted Z-Shift and the customer service was great, responses were quick and answers were informative. I really only wanted the half carbon fiber since I was gonna get it painted anyway but they only had the full carbon fibers in stock and offered a great deal. So I ordered the full carbon fiber diffuser from them. They shipped my order quickly and it was at my door within a week. The diffuser looked great. Installation/Paint: I researched and contacted a few local shops about the price to get the outer half of the diffuser painted. The difference between the quotes was hundreds of dollars. I contacted Leo and John at Impressive Auto Center and they were quick to respond and ready to help. They offered to paint, polish, and install the diffuser for a great price ($100). I met John, he showed me the cars they were working on around the shop, talked for a bit, cool guy. I left the diffuser there Thursday night and came back on Saturday morning to have them install it. The paint came out great. Perfect lines, perfectly matched paint between the diffuser and the rest of the car. It took about a half hour to take my stock diffuser off and fit the new one on. After a bit of work it fit the bumper very well. I would say 9/10. All in all I am very happy with the diffuser from Z-Shift and equally happy with the work done by Impressive Auto. Thanks a lot for a great product and great service guys. P.S. My friend saw the diffuser on my car and said he wants the exact same one on his M now. I know so here you go. Not the best quality but it's all I got.Last edited by shmezelk8; 06-03-2009 at 09:31 PM. Reason: Normal sized pics now |

Yea, you should go for it. I think the tinted lights and diffuser drastically improves the look of the rear end. Just take your time with the lights. I've tinted lights on my previous cars but sort of rushed through it a bit. On the M I took my time, let every coat dry completely, lots of clear coats, buffed it, waxed, and it came out really clean.
Here is a great DIY for tinting your taillights: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=213476 |
