Update from 01 Business Tape HU to 03+ Business CD HU

Hi guys

have had a hunt around and not found anything that is conclusive to me.

Need your collective advice on upgrading to a late model Business CD (one with Aux) from a Business Tape.

Is it correct to say that aside from the antenna adapter I will also need to change the radio amplifier in order to pick up radio reception? Anything else need to be changed?

Im in the same boat, upgrading from a tape deck to a newer cd and then adding a DICE module for my IPOD Touch. I think i'm just going to dive and swap it out and see what happens. Just got to make sure you pull the fuses for the radio first before I swap it out.

In 2002, BMW changed the antenna leads, so you will need an antenna adapter. You can get one online or go to the install bay at Best Buy. Do a search for "antenna adapter" to get the part numbers you need from Best Buy. Also, you will no longer need the diversity antenna, so just tuck that back into the dash opening. When I did my swap, I did not change any amplifiers and my new HU works fine. Regarding the DICE, it is my understanding that you must disconnect the CD changer, if you have one, in the trunk and connect the DICE unit, or if you don't have a changer, just connect the DICE to the CD changer connections.
