I might be interested in this, plus I'm local (Gaithersburg).

I assume this is a brand new tensioner pulley?

Where are you located?

I need to find out first though whether your tensioner pulley is compatible with my 323i.

I'm getting some belt chirp from my serpentine belt and my supercharger vendor recommended to my mechanic that we replace the serpentine belt and tensioner(s).

Is there only one tensioner pulley in our cars or do we have more than one?

This is brand new and never mounted. I can drop a couple bucks for pick up.

I am not 100% sure of compatibility, but I would assume it would fit. Please check the part number to see if it matches.

There are two tentioners, one on the A/C belt and another on the serpentine belt. If you're going to change your belts, you should also look to replace the idler pulley.

the tentioners in my auto 330ci seemed to be in good shape. To be honest, they didn't resemble this pulley (one side being recessed). I just assumed that I have a mechanical tensioner.. so, keep that in mind.

Thanks for the info. I did double check the part number you provided on realoem.com and it does match the one for my 323i, however I'm a bit concerned when you said the part doesn't quite match what you had in your car.
Where exactly in the DC metro area do you live?

$15 picked up? I figure shipping would have run you about 5 bucks based on weight, etc.

My AC belt was recently replaced and my idler pulley and serpentine belt were both provided by ESS when I had their twin screw S/C installed, so the idler pulley is practically new still. The belt chirp my mechanic is hearing is probably due to some minor belt slippage during hard acceleration as my mechanic discovered so ESS recommended replacing both the belt and the belt tensioner since the tensioner is the same original one that came with my car.

Ok, I did some more research and here's what I found out:

The pulley 11281748131 is the tensioner pulley from the hydraulic tensioner setup for the alt. belt. On the E46, you'll either have a mechanical or hydraulic setup.

The fact that you mentioned how this pulley looks different than compared to what you have in your car now leads me to believe that you have the mechanical setup versus the hydraulic setup that this specific tensioner you're selling is for.

I need to confirm from my mechanic which setup I have before I commit to purchasing the pulley from you, so I'll let you know.

Just got off the phone with my mechanic... it looks like what you're selling is not compatible with my car - the one I need has a part number that ends in 252.

Good luck with your sale.

EDIT: More bad luck... the mechanical tensioner that I have (and that you may have too) is now DISCONTINUED by BMW, therefore we have to convert to a hydraulic tensioner setup. What you're selling is only one of the components of the belt tensioner but not the full belt tensioner, FYI. Your specific part is the roller but there are more parts to the tensioner besides the roller.
