No one has answered how much torque is required for putting the new headers back on yet,
also any tips for removing the O2 sensors? they seem in there pretty tight and im afraid of breaking them due to their expense... :O |

any tips on installing the o2 sensors when there doesn't seem to be enough room to bolt the headers in with them installed? am running into this problem with my '01 325ci....

I placed the headers in first then installed the sensors. Did you re-route the 02 sensor lines?

attempted both ways man...just doesn't seem to be any clearance for the 02 sensors. i'm going to pull them off and have a friends dad attempt to make me some 90 degree adapters. i miss my car as it is on a lift in my dad's garage since friday morning. the .7 mile drive there just didn't last long enough.

Are you referring to the first header (closes to the front bumper) or the second one?
It's been a while since I did the install but I had to maneuver all sorts of way with tools to attach/tighten things up while under there.

yes. tried installing them with the sensors already installed and had to remove them. now that the headers installed, i can only get the pre cat on the shorter header installed

^ Are you installing them w/ defoulers or straight 02 sensors only?

just the sensors as i plan on having a new exhaust done with cats within a week or so. i know i only really need the pre-cat sensors to drive it. either way i'm going to deal with a CEL/SES light

You should lower/raise the engine a bit since you have it on a jack. See if that helps
