Glock 34

Anyone have experience with this gun? Looking to purchase one, and I'd like to try something new.

I love my G34. I have owned/carried Glocks for a long time. I was really on the fence about ever getting another Glock because I already had several. BUT, given ammo prices and my impending trip to GunSite in AZ, I wanted a reliable gun that was pretty accurate. I'd been thinking about a G34 or G35 for a long time, and finally had an excuse to get one. Plus, 9mm ammo is so much cheaper than .40.
Anyways, the top cutout on the slide is supposed to make it shoot more like the G17, but you do have a little bit of difference in forward weight due to the longer barrel and slightly more weight. Supposedly, Glock put in the cutout partially to neutralize the center of gravity on it to make it shoot more accurately and more controllably. The cyclic speed was supposedly increased as well. The longer barrel helps with accuracy. It has less muzzle rise than the G17, which I know from experience. This really helps with fast follow-up shots. I carry a G22 for work, and when I do failure drills (2-chest, 1-head), I can do it much faster with my G34 and with more accuracy (using the G34). The lighter 9mm round helps, but the feel of the gun is really amazing. To add to it, the 4.5lb competition/tactical trigger is a nice compromise between a service-grade OE pull of 5.5lbs and the full competition pull of the 3.5lb trigger that they put on the G17L and the G24. It's called the Tactical/Practical model by Glock, and I would really have to agree. I love shooting it. I slapped on some $7 grip tape and I'm in love with this gun. I like the rest of my Glocks OK, but this thing I absolutely love.
Granted, I've added a magazine well and extended magazines and night sights to my pistol, but the G34 is a great gun stock. I would really say that if you're looking for just one all-around good Glock, the 34 is definitely a great option. If you want a target or competition gun, it's a must. IMO anyways.

Either the G34 or the G21sf is my next glock of choice. They're amazing.

Have you seen the vid where they drop a 20ga shell in it and clear it with a 12 ga buck? If you find it post it I've been looking for it. I think it was on guns n ammo tv.

Yeah, I'm debating on which mag extension to do. I'll either put on a whole different tube or just an add-on tube. Don't know which one to go with, yet. It'll go on around the same time I slap on the Reflex II.
