I am sorry, never heard of them. Plus, isn't that survey almost 10 years old?

I canít believe that anyone could really believe that gun restrictive places have a lower violent crime rate that those places that do not restrict firearms to such a high degree. This person would have to believe that they would be safer in Washington DC, NYC, LA, anywhere in California, Detroit, Russia, Mexico ect. (all places with very restrictive gun laws and all places that have high violent crime rates) and feel less safe in places such as Alaska, Florida, Vermont, South Carolina, Israel (minus the Islamic terrorists that is) upstate New York, Georgia ect. (all places with much less restrictive gun laws). Even the chart that the original poster linked told the same story! This is a silly argument. Criminals will have guns no matter what the law. Think about this, cocaine has been illegal for more than 50 years. The US Military works inside of countries like Colombia to stop the production of cocaine internally, The US Navy seizes tons and tons of cocaine every year, the coast guard does the same, Customs prevents the importation of even more cocaine and the DEA catches the high level dealers in the US. Every single state and city and county law enforcement agency in the country has narc units and they take the stuff from the lower level guys. The Cartels lose billions in revenue to our anti-drug efforts and despite all of this you can still buy a rock of cocaine for 10 dollars in any city in America. So how is it that we will stop the flow of illegal weapons once we create a black market be restricting them here?

There's many other factors, none of which is the presence of a gun. The law-abiding don't suddenly become hysterical criminals once a gun is introduced. More importantly, though, is that my rights are not dependent upon the behavior of criminals nor can crime be addressed by punishing the law-abiding with more laws for criminals to not follow. More laws generally equates to more black market which generally leads to more guns in the hands of criminals.
