AR BUIS recommendations?

I'm looking for rear flip up back up sites for my AR (should pick it up this week). I want something reliable, but it doesn't have to be top shelf. I'm also not wanting to cheap out and get a piece of junk.

I'll eventually add an optic, but for now, I'll just be shooting iron sites.

Any recommendations?

If you want cheap go with the Magpul MBUS for $55.

If you want to drop some $$$ go with the TROY $140

The Larue fixed rear sight is great as well @ $89.

I'm a fan of Yankee Hill...great quality, though not top of the line, but definitely not crap. All of my gas blocks and BUIS were Yankee Hill. They're handguards are great too.

If you can't justify the 140 for the TROY (which is awesome), I'd skip the magpul and go right for the Larue. Not that the magpul is a bad sight, I just prefer the Larue for the little bit extra.

Don't overlook the MidWest Industries sights - I have them on my AR (front and rear), and they're fantastic.

I'm really out of my league here because I didn't have to replace mine when I bought the gun, but I've heard good things about GG&G but I don't have anything more specific than that unfortunately...sorry

If you are on a budget, you can find Matech 600m BUIS for ~$65 new. It's a great sight and is US Army Standard Issue.

Yes, I don't post much though; only really there for the EE. Too many idiots on there.

I'm a bit torn on flip up vs. fixed. So it's between the GG&G flip ups I aleady posted or LMT / Larue for the fixed. I'll probably decide tomorrow at some point. I've looked at others, but these seem to fit my needs best and (IMO) have the best aesthetics.

I have a flip-up and wouldn't look back...i have an ACOG

Running an open reflex with the right mount, you should be able to co-witness with any of those irons you picked.

It's up to you. The flip-up would be more flexible with your optic choice down the road, but the fixed rear would be always ready with nothing to flip-up.
