X5 M & X6 M Are Out...!

Back @ Local Dealer Here In Ohio!

Took a few snap shots for you guys... I figured these are not even on BMWUSA.com yet so why not post a preview...

Sorry for the blur... I was kind of in a hurry since, I wasn't supposed to be back there, let alone inside them!

Personally I'm not impressed yet... I guess I'm still an M purist at heart ie. NA & a Car... It's not too much to ask for is it? No turbos and RWD?!

But who know's they could grow on me, doubtful but maybe. The E65's and E60's did.

So let's hear what you guys think...

It's a shame they had to water down the M line. Taking after Mercedes and AMG.

My Ride: is totaled :(
How is this E46 related?

On topic: What's the point of an M SUV? Highly doubt you'll see any of these on track day.

after looking at it twice, the X5///M looks . The X6///M looks a lot better, one thing that bugs me though is how the hood has that little gap between the front bumper.

My Ride: comes with blow
RIP BMW... we knew this day would come.

But aside from that, that front bumper on that X6 M looks like a cheap Taiwanese aftermarket bumper. Much too aggressive and doesn't seem to fit properly.

These lap the nurburgring as fast as an e46 m3. Thats pretty impressive for SUV's.

Thanks for posting this in the General E46 subforum, I'd have never know.

They look great though, the X6M is pretty sexy.

It's all about the money. Innovate or die. The previous 4.6is and 4.8is were basically ///M's but without the ///M badge. Well...........Actually the 4.6is was an ALPINA built motor and it was so successful that BMW decided that they would build the 4.8L motor without ALPINA's help.

that cayenne is hideous

I'd buy the X-M if I had to choose, and it would be the X5, not the X6.

In your pics they look better than the official pics for some reason. Pretty mean looking SUV/SAC. Is the transmission auto or dct?

Thank you.

For all the BMW fans who hate the thought of an FI ///M, jump ship now. This is potentially the very beginning. Demands for fresh products, segment-busters/fillers, and compliance with stricter emissions/mpg standards, FI is a technology that could find their way in more ///M vehicles. You can only stretch Inline 6's, V8's and V10's so far in NA form, and maintain these new standards.

Could the Chevy ZR1 really get 608hp from an NA, production V8...and still balance 25highway mpg? FI is the way.

Don't forget, one of the first un-official ///M cars was the early 70's 2002 Turbo. Last I checked, that car is still a highly sought-after icon. So all is not lost.

(Now,I'll concede I dont like the X5/X6 M models. But, not because of their performance)
