BMW goes green

Looks impressive, but as usual with concepts they do go overboard a bit.

Sophisticated software underpins virtually every system of the concept. That software takes constant readings from the car's systems and interprets the data to enable more efficient operation. BMW says, for example, the navigation system's traffic data can cue the drivetrain to shut down the concept's cooling fans to prepare it for more efficient highway operation. Even the air conditioning and electric power-steering sensitivity are constantly tweaked in this way for optimum performance, BMW says.

This worries me: more stuff to break down. Thinking of the 7-series tells me that BMW is not very good at building reliable cars based on a big computer.

Perfect car for people loving under car neon lights. The car's missing honda badges and nice chrome wheels.

Yep, it's a repost. Someone else started a thread just yesterday about it. Personally, I think it looks like crap. I don't understand why car manufactures think that eco-friendly/super green cars have to look like spaceships or something from the Jetsons. Can't we just have a traditional looking green car?

Of course they will never ever build the car looking like that. So rest assured it will look more like a Toyota Prius with kidney grills when it's all said and done.

So basically still ugly, but everyone will buy it.

True.

I agree that the styling is horrible, but the concept is pretty impressive. IF they could get that concept into a more appealing shell then i might decide to put in an order for one.

It's so different from all the crap being produced today. Look how boring e46's are and then look at this car.

Finally, a step in the right direction with style and a huge step with technology. I love it.

back to thread, step forward in technology, but the car needs a re-design.

Its a fantastic car with a huge technology an a nice concept.Car lovers will really go for it.
