pistol newbie here :)
I got my first pistol this past weekend.
 it's a Taurus Millennium 9mm. Got it with case, holster, and 2 magazines. i know, i know... Taurus is kinda a cheapy brand but this being my first and probably only pistol, i wanted to see if I like owning a pistol first. If I like it I will be getting another one, a good/better quality one I really really like. I have a .30-30 Winchester and an old .306 Remington I use for hunting. When i was 15, I took a hunter's gun safety course and some other safety course but I remember only dealing with rifles and shotguns. I have shot a few pistols; I have shot my dad's .38 special a lot, a friend's H&K .40 and a .22. I will be taking another class here locally, then later for concealed carry... I got the pistol mainly for home protection. I will also carry when I am on the rode on the bike, camping and whatnot. I like how it's light and small, can be stashed anywhere and easy to carry.

Taurus makes a good product, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Looks like a nice first pistol to me. Let us know how it shoots.

I own a Taurus 1911 and its been a great gun.
All guns have some kind of issue here and there (except glock of course  )

Congrats! Everyone starts somewhere
 . I have a Taurus 24/7 9mm and it was my first gun. Worked well however nothing fancy. Keep your fingers crossed and hope you'll never need Taurus Customer service, it's terrible. Shouldn't be much of an issue since the gun should be ok.I just got my HK P30 today! |

taurus's arent a bad product... cant always go by what you hear... im personally a glock fan but own a few others... the moderately dislikes ruger sr9 is one of my favorite to shoot...
congrats... happy shooting. btw best for home defense.... 12g with birdshot... at that point if you miss... you should not own a gun
