Convertible problem, vert makes clicking noise

Yo guys I'm having some problems with my friends convertible. We opened the top as usual, and it seemed like it was fully closed, but it started making some unusual clicking noise. I traced the clicking noise to the middle of the back seats right in between the entrance to the trunk. Any idea what that loud clicking sound means in that spot? It's exactly where you take that piece out to access the trunk from the back two seats.

The motor for the top is located under the rear seat, that's what is clicking

My top starting doing this yesterday as well. I traced this to the emergency manaul-override switch popping in and out during the top operation.

Did you figure out what was going on?
