stripping wax?
whats the best product to use to strip wax and sealant?
I have 303 Vinyl/leather cleaner and one of my friends says to dilute it 30 to 1 and it will strip wax and sealant perfectly and wont harm paint. what do you guys think? also what would you recommend? would you use this for wheels as well or something different to clean the wheels? Thank you! |

Yea, +1 on the CG cwg, that stuff is great at stripping wax if you dilute it right.

A 50/50 dilution of IPA(91%)/Distilled Water and quality MF's will do the trick. It'll cost you all of $2 + the spray bottle. If I am not claying, this is what I use to remove any sealant/glaze/wax. I also use this between polishing stages to ensure a clean surface.
Good luck.

I recommend Chemcial Guys Citrus Wash and Clear. Dawn can dry out rubber seals over time, but would be ok used sparingly.

I would not use the 303 product for that task. The Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss - 16 oz is what I use while washing. A 50/50 mix of IPA will also work.

Dawn works fine, I wouldn't buy a separate wash just to strip wax. If it had some laying Citrus Wash & Clear laying around I'd use that in a stronger dilution.
