looks like a sweet project. But the big question is...what grade did you get on your project?

I ended up turning in two finals. I wrote up a report for the work I had completed thus far on the exhaust as well as did a "normal" final project and report.

I totally aced the class being that I did every project + extras, and make very thorough write up(habit from physics lab write ups). In addition to doing all the work I occasionally fill in for the teacher and teach some of the "underclassmen".

nice...I figured you did pretty well considering the attention to detail and I assume the parts list came from your report. good job

I demand a full evaluation, with videos on how the exhaust sounds and performs. Or else.

Still trying to get fitment correct. It's a really slow process when welding shop and your car are 10-15 minutes away from each other.

Things like this need to be adjusted:

Good, strangely enough. It tucks up underneath just fine and I will have the same ground clearance for daily driving as with the stock exhaust.

The only part where the exhaust hangs a little lower than stock is near the rear axle and it is lower by about an inch. This is a location where the exhaust won't be an issue for ground clearance (since it is right under an axle), but it will make the exhaust slightly more susceptible to damage.

Hooray for having hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to use! Woo!

Me cutting out a section of a curve to make it less radical, to fix that gap in the picture above:

Also I've been working on getting the flanges to fit. It's quite tight since they are so close to the transmission and each other. I need to verify for a second time to make sure I get the fitting of the flanges correct, and then I'm probably going to weld them together. Also I'll likely have to buy some new BMW flange gaskets to fit since the Vibrant Performance ones are a bit too big.

Also one thing in the last week is that people have commented and critiqued my exhaust. Hehe, everybody has their opinion on exhausts. The people I consider more knowledgeable have just asked about design and affects on the car. The people I don't consider as knowledgeable or people I don't know have said that I will lose tons of torque and power and began to tell me why, show me what I should have done with their hands, or tell me the trick that their exhaust guy they know does. lol.

I really need to do a before after dyno with my old exhaust and new exhaust.

Do it, please! For your own knowledge. And if its an improvement, then you'll feel all the more satisfied. If not, oh well still a fun thing to do and what, you'd lose 5hp or less? Plus I'm sure it would benefit many others in the future.
