ebay and new fob key

has anyone here every purchased an brand new fob key off ebay?

In every single description, it states the "key remote must be brought to your dealer to have it cut and must be hooked up to a computer to program the transponder key to start the car."

Does anyone know how much the dealership charges for this?

i dont think the dealership cuts keys. they order them and have them cut. just go to the dealer if you want a new key your not going to save money if you hafta have them do half the work anyways.

If you are planning on upgrading your key to the new "diamond shape" key. Its really easy buy the diamond shape key, have it cut (will cost you no more then 35 bucks), then take the chip from your existing key and stick it in the NEW one, ok///
There is a diy on it/// search something like "new key" or "diamond shape key"
_____________Total cost should not be more then 100 bucks US. 60 bucks for the key (off ebay)
35 bucks to cut it

they can, but they can't program it. the keys that they sell on ebay doesn't have the chip.
the best for you to do would be to go and get a new key from a dealer.
