Need a New Radiator...

I recently cracked/split the PLASTIC side tank right on the seam near the upper hose. Its not leaking anymore but its not holding pressure. This all happened on my last session of the day at PIR. I drive a 2000 328i(manual) with 89k on the clock. I wanted to replace it with a "all aluminum" radiator.

What radiator is everyone using on there weekend warrior, track beater, track car, etc?

Moost people just buy another plastic because of the price. It DID last 9 years, didn't it?

Vivid Racing (from your sig) carries PWR. Looks to be a reasonable option.

zionville motorsports makes the alu one and its NOT cheap.
it would take 10 plastic ones to replace 1 alu one, so u better be racing or keeping that car a long damn time.

u can call DMW in my sig and get another OE one.

Looks like Fluidyne from BimmerWorld is universal.

Dealer wants $360. I found a Mishimoto??? aluminum radiator for $318+shipping.

Im probably going with the oe for now...unless I can get a deal on the PWR.

Thanks guys.

Just buy a Behr or Nissens for around $170. They work great and both were OEM for BMW depending on whoever gave BMW the best price when the cars were in production.

I got a behr for $150 last year. And ftr, the one I took out was over 9 years and 160k miles old, I just replaced it as a precaution, nothing was wrong with it. So OEM plastic ones can last a long time.

I replaced my radiator this sunday. I paid $413 for the rad. and a gallon of coolant from the dealer.

There is a shop in town that will replace the side tanks...I didn't get a price quote though. I will take my old radiator in so I can have a spare.

Now my car is ready to hit the skreets!...just kidding. Next NASA event is on Thanksgiving weekend.
