It should just stumble a bit on long hard right turns, not die completely unless you had like no gas in the tank. If it actually shut off because of this the check valve in the pump assy. is probably bad and backflowed all of your gas in the line.

yeah it just died, i tried tapping and banging all kinds of crap, the top, the tank, the filter. nothing. then when vdo showed up i disconnected the battery for a few moments and she cranked right up. no CEL no sputter, nothing... im baffled.

Check and see if codes were generated, but that doesn't really sound like a fuel pump issue to me, more electrics....

Autozone and Advance read for free... granted it's generic and not top-of-the-line BMW reader, but at least it will give you a general idea.

dude, did you read, i DONT have a CEL(check engine light) therefore, a OBD2 reader wont show jack sh1t |

Not true, codes can be generated, and then go away (i.e. emissions sensors that fail, but then work again). If your car died like that, SOMETHING might have been recorded by the engine.

ECU's usually store codes for at least 40 starts, but he pulled the battery cable, which resets any stored codes.
edit, TV died today, time for HDTV, Plasma, and much bigger...
