I need $6,000 asap to do their 3-day school ![]() Regardless, that's really cool that you got to drive a FM, regardless of the fact that it was an older chassis. Thanks for the info

![]() I have always thought if I won the lottery one thing I would do is buy a shifter kart and start running it a lot for practice and training, maybe for a year. And then I would run the full Russell Championship season. If I did well, I'd probably pursue ALMS or Atlantic or similar as a potential career (late in life, albeit). Self sponsorship FTW, lol. If I was mediocre, I'd just stick to karting, do as many different schools as I could (road, stock car, off road, etc), run track days with some stupid fast street car and be a fan of the real racers. I've had great experiences with Bondurant, Russell and Barber over the years. If you've never done a 2+ day school in open wheel cars, you should definitely do it. It's a thrilling experience and you learn so much more than from similiar seat time in even the trickest sedan.

I find it very hard to heel / toe in my e46 as the accelerator is offset too far back from the brake pedal so you have to move your feet at odd angles or be very agressive and quick. Throttle response is not an issue since I swapped my engine to a 3.0 and tuned the ecu.

hey i know its been talked about numerous times, but im having hard time to heel and toe in my car. My foot size is 10.5 and i just cant put my ankle in a right angle to tap the gas pedal to do a proper rev match. rpms either go too high from like 4000 to 7000 which is no good, or just like 200 higher. ive tried to do it in my moms prius (haha) and im more comfortable in there lol . does anybody have a problem like that? i was thinking about gettin one of those pedal sets, do you think that might help?
and i just got couple questions about rev matching. is it ok to rev match on engaged clutch or is it better to learn double clutch technique? im not worried about the looks or sound, just dont want to put too much stress on the engine. another question is about engine braking, i imagine that engine braking at around 3000 rpms wont do much harm to the engine, what about 5000-6000 then? i know that those are questions that there is no definite answer to , but i could use some less biased, realistic opinions. |
