i think that having a V16 in a car like that is awesome and all, but how would it be useful? wouldn't an engine that heavy destroy the handling of the car, making it only really using for drag racing?

It was a top of the range luxo barge, its not all about the handling or even drag racing.

The purpose of the engine was for testing. BMW has always slotted large motors into large cars.

you dont necessarily need a good handling car on the autobahn...
its just a comfortable, powerful cruiser
