Steering wheel swap and DIY lower trim paint:
My stock wheel was pretty worn out, and the lower trim piece was very scratched up so I decided to give this part of the car an overhaul. I removed the wheel, sanded down the lower trim, painted it and installed a ZCP wheel we had laying around the shop. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

-Mirror memory, automatic curb parking function
In efforts to save my wheels when parallel parking, we performed the "Curb parking" function to the car using Auto logic to program it. This allows you to to control where the folded down mirror is positioned when you put the car in reverse. To activate this feature, you simple set your mirror selector switch to the passenger side and leave it there. As long as the switch is left on the passenger side, anytime you reverse, your mirror will fold down into the desired position. To disable this, you just move the mirror switch to the driver side. To set the "curb mirror" position, put the car in reverse, with the mirror switch on the passenger side, adjust the mirror to where you want it and you are done! ![]() To program: 1. Connect the car to the DIS system. 2. Choose "1. Car Memory" 3. Choose "9. Seat/Mirror Memory" 4. Choose "2. Mirror Memory Automatic Kerb Parking Function" 5. Choose "1. Active" (It is set to "Inactive" by default) 6. Upload the new settings to the car. 7. Turn the ingnition off and then back on. 8. Disconnect the car from the DIS system. To position the mirror: 1. Push the mirror selector switch to the passenger side. 2. Put the car in reverse. (The mirror should tilt down) 3. Adjust the mirror position to what ever makes you happy. 4. Put the car back into N or 1. (The mirror should tilt back up)

-Center console & cupholders/shift boot & knob replacement
At 86,000 miles, things start looking pretty worn out. I have always been fanatical about my interior being clean in all my cars, so this is one area that received priority over others. Since I already gave the steering wheel a facelift, it was time to replace the extremely worn out center console, that has seen years of armorall and other bad cleaners, the cup holders that looked like they were used to hold mid-evil torture devices, and the shift knob, that has seen just a little too many lotion lathered hands. Center console before picture: ![]() Shift knob before picture: ![]() New parts installed: -OE Center console -OE Euro tray long type -OE Alcantara shift boot -OE M shift knob ![]() ![]() ![]()

-Outer LED ring Re-Wire
TigerDave made an outstanding DIY on how to modify the outer ring of the LED tail lights, that is normally reserved for the adaptive braking feature, to light up with normal braking. The end result looks much better than before, and makes the car appear wider at night. -OEM Bluetooth retrofit
After becoming accustom to having a bluetooth system in my e92, It was a nightmare having to hold the phone up to my ear while shifting in the E46. That new knob looks much lower than the old one. Did you install an ssk or 330izhp shifter or what?

-Replacement ashtray/sunglass tray
The final piece needed to complete my full center console restoration was the HVAC section above the shift section. The ash tray door and sunglass tray were just treated brutally, showing signs of some sort of animal scratching at them for years! Finally got these parts in from Tischer, and wow what a difference! -Rearview mirror and side mirror replacement
My oval rearview mirror had the dreaded leaking mirror syndrome, where it looked like it was filled up with motor oil a little more than half way up. I contacted Sybesma’s Electronics: 616-392-6911, email: orders@sybesmas.com, and told them about my mirror. They asked me to send in some photos of the mirror as well as the base and connectors of the mirror. I paid $100 shipped for a replacement, but I have to send back the old mirror once the new one arrives. Before: ![]() ![]() ![]() After: ![]() ![]() I was also having issues with my driver side mirror. It had the rusted looking edge, so I replaced this part through Tischer. Here is the new mirror installed, rust free ![]() ![]() Brandon S. | european auto source [eas] email: brandon@europeanautosource.com web: www.europeanautosource.com tel 866.669.0705 | ca: 714.369.8524 x26 | fax: 714.908.1796 Angel Eyes FAQ - What you should know before purchasing NEW iPhone 3G/USB Charging DICE SILVERLINE iPod integration kits now available!
