Just out of curiosity, how many of the 17-22 year olds who bought their own car will be going to college or are in college/graduating soon? By college I mean a four year university, not the 13th grade.

I did (see previous post in this thread), and I'm about to graduate from UCLA within 4 classes. Paid my own way through college as well with under $15K in student loans, including cost of living from when I enrolled freshman year.

Bough mine shortly after my 19th birthday- a present to myself. No mods, cause I live on my own and OC is expen$ive, but I couldn't be happier with my car.
3k down, 489/mo for 60 month loan @ 2.9% interest, no co-signers. Got LoJack and CPO extended warranty/maintenance too on it. -SMM |

This is exactly why I don't currently own a bmw.. I had around $18,000 saved up in the bank from working and instead of buying a 330i, or something similar, I chose to go to college. So unfortunately I do not see myself owning an E46 anytime soon, but im pretty sure I made the right choice. I still would love to own a bmw tho so I wouldnt mind settling for an E36.

sorry guys i totally cheated.
i bought my own car, and the two before it. just turned 19, and yes i am irresponsible....wrecked the first one taking a turn on a green arrow and a lady ran a red light and hit me. the second was claimed by a drunk driver... but damn i am sooooo irresponsible cause i am a teen. i went of to college at 16 so since then i have not lived at home (except 1 month) and my parents do not support me (the govt does - 2 years free at UNT as a 16-18 year old in college and now a full ride at UTD with housing included) ....however they gave me 800$ as a grad present. @andypandy e46..... totally wish i had an m3 but i got a 323i instead. i was about 15Gs short of an e46 m3

WTF?! I paid for my car out of my own pocket, every cent. I pay for insurance myself and I'm 19. Daddy does not pay for my cars. Good thing I have a great head on my shoulders and can do a repairs and mechanical work myself. Plus when people ask me I payed for the car I proudly say yes, because it says alot about you. Ohh and im a full time student in a 4 year university and pay for my own bills.

I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I bought a 2000 323 CI with 95k miles by myself with my own money.
I will also be going to college next year..not sure where but my dad gets to pay for that ![]() I am looking to make mods to it. If anybody has any ideas let me know. Last edited by safeer; 11-05-2009 at 01:29 AM. |
