Don Nguyen - Vinyl Carbon Fiber Roof - Picture Thread

Would really like to see how it comes out with clear coat applied to it. If thats even possible..

I thought my buddy took better/more pics of the roof. I guess ill take some with my crappy point and shoot this weekend. Heres what I have for now but you can barely make them out. My car is the dark blue M3.

Did you tell them not to wrap your roof rails with the roof?

yeah. I think it looks nicer without it and he said there might not be enough material to do the rails also so he didnt do it just in case. Did they contact you yet about getting another piece?

I wish everyone was like you. Doing the rails is really tedious. It'd probably cut the time of a roof install in half.

Also in case anyone else is wondering, there is enough materials on the side to cover the rails.

They have not contacted me yet, that I know of.

looks like the same material I have on my roof. Any idea if gloss can be applied on top?

spray that wrinkle test piece with some clear coat and polish it, i'm curious to see how it would turn out

This material is very forgiving. Take your time, and you should be fine. I replied to your e-mail.

It'll just end up looking like cheap cf. I am fairly certain, after working with it for a while now, that it's not possible to clear/gel coat this, and make it have the same effect as real cf. Simple as that. For people who want the gloss cf look, you'll either just have to get the real deal, or wait to see if anything like that ever comes out in the next couple of years.
