Rhodesians are badass. when I was growing up we almost got one, but we got a Dane instead. I have always wanted a Rhodesian.

I've owned 4 cats in my life, and have no desire to own another. they do nothing for me, what do they do for the cat lovers here?

i dunno what does a child do for it's parents other than continue the family legacy?

they provide the perfect level of attention and affection, and relatively low levels of maintenance. and their more self centered and entitled behavior is much cause for amusement, hence all the lolcats on the internet, they're like having another person around.

not sure I'd compare a cat to a child, a dog maybe, but not sure where you were going with that...

didn't mean to offend you, I'm simply asking why people like cats...I had them for 22 years and never saw much value. maybe my cats sucked, but they just pissed all over, shed hair everywhere, and never were fun to play with.

I'm sure there are some great cats, millions of people have them, just never got much enjoyment out of mine.

hahah i meant no hostility in my tone, i meant it inquisitively speaking, as i think most pet ownership motive stems to some degree from our parental nurturing instinct.

Were yours strictly indoor cats? It seems like cats with bad dispositions are usually the ones kept indoors, my aunt lives in Brooklyn and both of her cats make a mess out of their apartment since they are indoor cats. All the ones Ive had have been great, low maintenance pets. Our cats have always been able to go outside and they even go to the bathroom strictly outdoors

always indoor only, which was always stressful. anytime a cat would "escape" we'd all go crazy trying to get the cats before they ran off into the hills behind us.

damn i hated those cats
