This is what mine looked like, BMW have now given my car back after 4 months of "fixing" they reckon costs where about $12500.

I am going to sell the car soon and are becoming more and more reluctant about buying another BMW due to the stress of the whole ordeal.

I've said it probably a million times on here, in all the reading i've done on this issue, i am yet to find a SINGLE vert that has been effected.

Tell me about it.
Had to take it to get a second quote at Superfinish (which was a little cheaper but they ended up going with batisti anyway :S) and then Dominich left Doncaster.....but finally.

The floor pan BMW put in is not the same as the original, it is made of a much stronger compound, its not even the same colour

It always perplexes me when i hear "Mechanics or Panel Shops commenting on rubbish like this

Anyone have the names of the REGIONAL MANAGER which inspected their cars?

The one which visited Autoclassic here in Perth is "Clive" Little short haired (soccer boy), goatee, irish pommie accent.

Would like to gather the information and forward it on to the lawyers who are acting on behalf of some members here...

Well today is a great day... BMW Australia has come back and assumed full responsibility of the repair under goodwill via a letter to the lawyers. Should anyone wish to have their car settled in this arrangement and believe me they have more than enough info/evidence pm me and I will forward you the contact details of myself and the lawyers.

Hope this will help everyone, all the best and I am always here for anyones assistance!

Good result. Shame you had to take it up with the lawyers to get the result though.

yeah, first ive heard about this issue with the E46's .

Is there a check you can carry out to see if your car is effected ?

Or is it best to go to see BMW to get it sorted before it becomes a problem ?

good news by the way mvrboy !!! glad to see them finally doing the right thing by you !!!
