FWIW, when my gas light comes on, the range indicator is always between 60-62 miles remaining.

Am I missing something or is there a way to enable the OBC to read out the fuel amount remaining? How can this be done?
My amber light comes on when I have 120km left under range. I think this is calculated based on how much fuel you have left and how you drive i.e. fuel consumption rate.

alright guys here it is. I was on 0 miles or just the blank miles on the turnpike. I went 13 miles with my car saying 0 miles (actually blinking 0 miles i think) before i finally found a gas station. I rolled in and she died right in front of the pump.
FWIW my fuel pump died a couple months later but im at 110K so who knows. BTW I drove on the kansas turnpike through the flint hills, I had to go up so many inclines I was spooked but hey what goes up must come down. That was my first and last adventure with 0 miles. |

my buddy and i were driving to vegas with 2 other friends. the gas meeter was 10 mi off from the gps to the closest gas station on the outskirts of vegas. our car went to the ---- and we cruised at 55 mi an hour with the windows up, ac off and mr morrison and the doors playing to guide us in. Haha it was like 110 that day and when we rolled in to the gas station on fumes we got out all sweaty can cracked a bud light from the trunk. epic

I've never seen the fuel light come on, but I still ran out of gas three times. What?
A couple of months ago, I took my 2008 X3 in to the dealer because on two separate occasions, I ran out of gas when the computer said I still had 51 and 59 miles before the tank was empty, and the gauge showed well over 1/8 tank. They had the car for 5 days while replacing the fuel level sensor(s?). I filled up and drove home. No problem.
Today, however, with 125 miles of range left and the gauge showing well over 1/3 tank, I ran out of gas again! After putting 17.9 gallons in it (capacity is listed at 17.7), it's showing 195 miles of range, and the gauge is showing around 2/3 tank. It's definitely full though. Any thoughts? Should I worry about my fuel pump and filter? Thanks for any help, RedFoot |

I drove my about 12 miles after it hit the ------ screen. I've done this a few times. I'm pretty convinced my car doesn't actually need gas
