No longer in an E46

Well guys, the call of a larger family car finally got to me (I have 3 girls as of October 24th).

I traded my 2005 325i in on Saturday (my birthday) for a CPO 2007 550i. Dark Gray on Black with Anthracite maple wood, steptronic transmission, sport/premium/cold weather packages, Logic 7, sirius sat. radio, 6 disc changer, rear window shades, navigation and comfort access.

Anyone else here in an E60 have an ipod kit that they like?

Any sponsors sell an ipod kit that works well with the idrive system.

I understand I will lose my 6 disc (who cares) but can I keep sirius radio?

that's not the problem. Its the number/size of photos you can post on here before you have to "join."

I should probably just renew my membership....

In my 535 I use the aux jack and the ipod connector the car came with. It works fine and the artist and title show up on the idrive but it doesn't shuffle the songs.

right...yours probably has a build date of after March, 2007, which is when that option became avaiable. Mine is 12/06. Not available. Would love it if it were!

jbcritch: How do you like the additional HP in the 550i? The thought ran thru my mind to get a 550i at some point.

I had a 545i and missed that badly. Glad to be back in the saddle with some HP!

Is there much "actual" MPG difference in the 550i vs e46

Claimed EPA is:

325i - 19/27
550i - 17/24

I've only had it since Saturday, but find that I am right on target to refill this weekend based on my usual driving habits. That appears about the same for "fill up time." I dont know the difference in the gas tank size though, so it may offset mileage difference.

Yes I did, but asking was around $43K. They had one priced at $34K, but it had higher mileage (around 40K miles). Mine is very low mileage (around 25K miles).
