Question Ideal setup for e46 M3 wheels and tires for autocross and track

I have a 2004 M3 with OEM 19" wheels with no suspension mods that I know of.

I would like to get the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec street tires and I'm looking for the ideal wheels. I am looking for inexpensive, racing wheels to be used exclusively at these events. I am not overly concerned with looks but rather with performance on a budget.

The more I read about them the more confused I get. Any suggestions are welcome.

1) The Kosei K1 17x8.5 has been suggested and based on forum readings seems a 17 or 16 wheel is better but not sure if is OK for my car.

2) Another post suggested 18x8.5 38mm offset all around.

3) What would be the ideal tire size for front and rear. I've read conflicting posts on this subject.

4) If anyone has a used set of wheels and tires (Little thread life is ok) please let me know.

A lot of the E46 M3 guys run square 9.5" setups. 9.5 +33 fronts and 9.2 +22 rears with 255/265's all around. Dunlop Z1's are a great choice for a track tire. I like them a lot! A few other tires you may also want to look into: Yokohama AD08, Toyo R1R, Hankook RS3, Bridgestone RE11. Z1's are probably the most bang for the buck deal as far as track tires at this point though.
