My Ride: has no hip-hop rimz
|
That's what I'm thinking. When comparing % increases among the 128 vs. 135 and 328 vs. 335 vs. M3, the maths say that the "M1" should cost in the neighborhood of $52,000. That's a bit high in my opinion, but still about $6,000 cheaper than the M3. In all likelihood I think upper 40s is going to be the price - maybe about $48,500-$49,500. Rip off if you ask me

Yes...I do think I hate you

sounds interesting...but I don't want to wait that long for it to show up before i get a new ride.
Probably will cost what the e46 M3 did

the 1 can be a really, really fast car around a track with some simple modifications.....i just dont like them doing an M version of it...seems stupid...why not just make the m3 significantly lighter?

The M badge use to be an exclusive club and now everything that BMW makes is M'ed. Just like Mercedes watered down the AMG line, BMW is following suit and it's a shame

Herein is the problem with this car. Otherwise I like the idea and it would be a great car.

Exclusivity was not a planned occurrence, it was just a lack of expansion. It was inevitable. I still fail to see it as a bad thing if the end product is still a good one (unlike the unbalanced AMG cars)

"It's a business", like someone posted earlier if you want something exclusive you're going to have step up to a Porsche or hell maybe a Ferrari. I don't have a problem with an M 1 series car as long as it done with BMW fundmentals in mind. The currently 135i is a great car but arguements can be made that it's a bit soft and understeers too much.

I like this new move. It seems like BMW actually took to heart some of the feedback from the enthusiast community and is making an effort to accommodate. I don't think it has as much to do with putting high powered sport cars into the hands of kids as some people may think. Have you guys been reading Roundel lately? The heat from the enthusiast community regarding the pricing and accessibility of the e90 M3 has really been building in the last few months. Right now, there is no new BMW I desire...that sucks to say. But this concept certainly does peak my interest. My advice to BMW would be: Slash that stupid fvcking ///MX5 (or whatever it's called) from the lineup and focus on getting this right!

that car is probably the ugliest bmw makes. i'd sooner own an x3...
when i look at it, i just imagine it making this noise ![]() and yeah the m1 title should have definitely been saved for a more super car-ish thing, perhaps they'll make the m8 that super car?
