let me get this straight, some guy swerves to avoid animals next to a cliff, falls off, side bags deploy because he fell on his side, and not the front, yet he is going to sue BMW for having only the side bags deploy which saved his life?

Good luck pal, he should be happy he is alive.

Sue the car company that saved you and your friend's life after falling 426 feet off a cliff? I'd be sending BMW a thank you note, considering this guy got out with a broken collarbone.....

Considering his grammar and the fact that he keeps calling his friend "the female" Im assuming things like basic logic are far above his head. Its gonna be funny when he sues BMW, they investigate and interview the passenger and she flips on him and lets them all know he made up the animal thing. Im sure his parents have plenty of money to pay for the fines he'll get for lying to the cops/ his insurance company though.

The last few pics you can see that it drops pretty step atleast 150-175 in the pics and it dosnt look like it was leveling off anytime soon

No offense but this was most likely a guy from glendale. His grammer tells a lot about him again no offense but i bet this was some armenian driving around with his leased bmw screwing around like a lot of younger armenian kids do up there and now wants to sue bmw to try and get more money. Typical fraud but this crap always happens here lol

You are correct. The car landed on the driver side first, deploying the driver side bags. This absorbed allot of the initial impact and slowed the down as is barrel rolled down the cliff. The car being slowed down, and the impacts were softer at this point, there was no need for the other airbags to be deployed. There was no frontal impact to set the front airbags off. The car and the airbags did their intended jobs. They were both very lucky, and they were in a very safe car.
Always hit the animal! I repair more cars that try to swerve and miss the animal than cars that go ahead and hit the animal/don't swerve. I think it's human nature to swerve. It's a reflex action.

I am just glad the guy made it out alive. Hopefully he had full coverage auto insurance and opted for the medical coverage as well. That car is completely wasted and will most likely be sold at the salvage auction.

yea, the front airbag sensors are right behind the headlight, close to the fender, those didnt have strong impact which is why they didnt go off. it also looks like the pasanger side airbags didnt go off tho, which i did find interesting. either way, they are lucky to be alive, and i wouldve hit the animal!
