18" tires and weight comparison + special ending

I'm in the market for a set of 18" tires (235/40R18 and 265/35R18s). I just need a decent performing, low cost set of summer tires. So I've narrowed it down to Sumitomo HTR ZIII and General Exclaim UHPs.

Sumi's weigh 24/27 lbs and the UHPs weigh 21/24 lbs. The Direzza Star Specs are 26/28. I would think that 3 lbs per axle would make a big difference in MPG.

Now, what would be considered a light tire for a 265/35R18? About 25 lbs?

The special ending is my rant about the worst tires ever.

need to replace my Goodyear Eagle GT A/S since they totally suck. Between 3 bubbled sidewalls (read: 3 new tires) and 2 that are leaking around the bead (tire issue, not a wheel issue since other tires don't leak), I'm tired of these tires. It wouldn't be so bad if these didn't handle like I'm driving on roads greased with crisco.

Goodyear Eagle GT A/S + CF sidewall = worst tire ever.
