///M badges

I have a 330, I would never put an M badge on it, I love the M3 but the 330 is a great car to, put a custom badge on it or something. as far as modding it to look like an M, thats cool to a certain extent, I just found a quad exhaust kit that I'm getting that fits the M-tech 2 kit. The way I see it, if you got a really expensive wide body kit and about 10Gs worth of visual mods and no ///M power or aftermarket power, to back it up, your just a ricer...

In Europe the M badge is put on by BMW and indicate that the car has been modified from factory with original M-Tech parts like: body kit, suspension, interior, wheels etc.

I would de-badge it. No one will now what you have under the hood, and then shock them at a stop light or pass em'. If you don't like the de-badge choice, I would do what was mentioned above and put the M Badge on with the 330, but ONLY if your car has the M-Body Kit.

iirc it's the dealer that does that not the factory. Kind of like a marketing hype for people to buy them "Oh hey this has an M badge so it must be better, I'll take it".

Chase said it best too for those that are debating other M parts such as shift knob, steering wheel, etc. Those actually function. The M badge is put there by people who want to pretend they're something they're not. Don't try and say it looks better either because the best and cleanest is no badge even on an M3 (it makes the rear symmetrical).

The Question is Next time you go some where and park your car how long do you intend to keep the paint on your car?

M badges on non-M's are mega fail. The mere thought makes you a ricer.

It IS true. And it IS from the factory not the dealer. Even Canada had some 330's with the MSport package include an M badge from the factory.

However, this may be what leads to some confusion...not all years of 330 Msports had this M badge. EG: in Canada 2002's didn't get it, but it was on either 2003 or 2004's. The pics of the Euro 330's indicate it continued on later models as well.

Sorry, are you saying that most European MSport E46s came with an m Badge on the bootlid?

Think of it this way: It's like all those kids in HS who put VTEC and Si badges on their base-model hand-me-down Civics.
After the M badge, throw a GTR badge from Autozone on next to it! Then u'll be almost complete!!

Why doesn't some one make an "E46Fanatic" Badge... chrome for those that like it flashy and shadowed for those who are more reserved... ?

you should get some "Type R" seat belt pads too, or "NOS". Don't forget the stickers also.
