Changing Expansion tank

Got the car last week, needs a new tank. I ordered the tank with a cap, it will be delivered tomorrow. Looks like everyone recommends bmw EOM coolant. I did not order any. I assume that im going to need to drain the radiator to change out the tank.
1. Do i need to drain the radiator?
2. Can i get BMW OEM coolant at the dealer for less than $25?
3. What can be substituted, that i can get at autozone ect?
