this picture shows (circled) the two mounting pieces that are on the xenon frames and on the p46. Halogen housings use some kind of ball joint that screws into the adjusters, its totally different.

Phase 2: it's time for the next step in my retrofit project...wiring up the bi-xenon shutter!! Got all the parts: relay, relay wiring harness, in line fuse holder, oem plugs that plug into bi-xenon plug, oem wire for bi-xenon plug. As soon as I get my ride back from no reverse tranny rebuild
I'll wire everything up. Stay tunned for more photos and bi-xenon shutter video. ![]()

wanted to but i wanted more of a solid mounting set up, instead of retrofiting my own mounting system and all that. But i will probably upgrade the lenses for sure..

ok, well im finished with phase 2, wiring up the bi-xenon shutter. All i can say is the bi-xenon feature is badass. I followed sna77's diy that he posted up here and it works flawlessly. ONLY hiccup i ran into and haven't had time to fix is since the relay essentially removes the halogen high beams from the lighting circuit (when i turn on the headlights, it triggers the relay to switch the power to the solenoid and not the high beam bulbs) I get bulb out warnings if i use the bi-xenon shutters. If i turn the lights off and pull the high beam stalk for flash to pass the warnings go off (because the halogen bulbs are back in the circuit). Im thinking this problem can be easily fixed with a couple of caps tapped into the wiring BEFORE the relay. Ill try it out and post up if it works. Anyways on to the pics & video!
I recently got some angel eyes from mike over at F1 Autohaus, they look awesome. Check my other thread for more pics http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=744697 ![]() Ok so next up i did a video with my crappy point and shoot camera (my nikon d3000 doesn't shoot video ), and for some reason when i uploaded it to youtube the quality is really bad. I took a couple snapshots of the original video to show the better quality. And of course in real life they are even better, but you can get the idea of how the shutter works from the vid.shutter closed ![]() shutter open ![]() vid (NOTE: forgot to turn down the radio ![]() )Overall, im extremely happy with the project. A humongous step up from p46s. Next is the last and final step, mtec 6k bulbs to match the angel eyes Thanks for lookin questions and comments as always welcome.
