Doesn't the video module supports both NTSC and PAL standards? I know you can code it with navcoder for example.

Anyway, I'm having the same problem as nah33m. Video module works correctly, it switches to RV camera input when in reverse, but the image is distorted, out of sync. I've tried 2 cheap cameras and two video modules. No winning combination. The cameras were tested before on a TV. What could be the problem? I'm guessing signal incompatibility? Does anybody know the OEM camera signal specs?

I'm having the same problem. Anyone know the solution? At the moment I'm using the AV input pins 6 and 15. Image flickers if I use proper Reverse Cam AV input on pin 13 and 14.

Make sure you buy NTSC camera. The video module input only accept NTSC signal (dedicated for Reverse Camera). The other AV input is for video which can be configured for PAL/NTSC or SECAM.

My car is Euro Spec (PAL). The US models need NTSC or do the Euro model need NTSC too?

My car is a EURO spec as well but it require NTSC reverse camera. First I bought PAL camera it didnt work - image flikers but when I changed it to NTSC type, it works perfectly. Please read the 8th or 9th post before this to confirm.

I'm pretty sure from what I've read that a dedicated reverse camers needs to be NTSC otherwise you'll get the flicker you're experiencing.
As zbi701 mentioned.........

all what i can say is that the camera needs to output ntsc (or ntsc/pal capabilities).

I bought an other reverse camera for my M3, will install it and revert you back to confirm that.

I tried to install my reverse camera this week end but i gave up because i cannot remove the trim on the trunk which has the 2 bulbs for the license plate.

Here is the type of camera i have. It's replacing one of the license plate bulb.

I can remove the 4 screws fixing the trim round in green below,
but something is still stucking the trim at the emblem area (rounded in red below).

Can anyone confirm that i have to unmount all the interior side of the trunk to access to a screw for the BMW emblem ?

Thanks for your help.

hey guys, this is my first post on this forum so please excuse my unintentional lack of etiquette.

i did a rear camera install on my keyhole this weekend (http://www.amazon.com/Boyo-VTB180-Sm...ata/B001PYFSVQ) and got the wiring hooked up so that (1) my camera is powered by the reverse wire and (2) my Dynavin v5 is triggered by the same wire. It works, but the camera is only powered when the car is in reverse.

I want the camera to be on so that I can view it at any time (triggered by the reverse wire AND through the menu interface when I'm driving forward). I've read other posts about relays and switches, but was wondering if the following connections would work:

(1) Camera power connected to accessories wire (like the standard angel eyes install, so it's on whenever the car's on)
(2) Camera video cable connected to Dynavin video input
(3) Dynavin trigger wire connected to car's reverse wire

That way the camera is always on (which may not be desirable for some people) and accessible via the Dynavin interface, but also able to be triggered when the car is in reverse. It seems too simple to be true, but I don't (yet) understand why this doesn't make sense.

Yes. Pop off the emblem. There is then a screw under it holding the trim to the car. Then get ready to sand down the back of the camera/led a lot or it won't fit in the enclosure. You also don't have to separate the painted trim from the plastic (black) part underneath. Just pry off the cover to the light and take out the light parts. Once I sanded down the back of the camera/led I also had to use two small screws to hold it in place. A bit of a pain but nice once u get there.
