Do you have a bug-out-bag?

I've been working on gathering supplies should the need arise to get the hell out of town. Living in Florida, it was actually quite easy to take my hurricane supply kit and just add to it.

So if you have one, what's in it?

That looks more like a Red Dawn/Zombie Apocalypse bag than a Get The Hell Out Of Town bag.

Then again I'm from Illinois so what do I know.

Glockman - which Pelican Cases do you have? I picked up the Maxpedition Doppleduffelbag awhile back. It's a little small, but you can pack a lot into it. I also have a large hard plastic trunk that I had picked up from Home Depot to throw all of the supplies in.

My current kit consists of the following (please remember that this is also my hurricane supply kit):

First Aid Kit
Emergency Candles
Matches
Flashlights
Lantern
Batteries
Portable Radio
Compass
Knife
Fire Starting Kit (flint, etc)
Butane Lighter
Folding Camp Shovel
Small Camp Axe
Multi-Tool
Rope
Tarps
15 cans of sardines
15 cans of tuna
Water Purification Tablets
Laminated Local Maps - roads and topigraphical
Toilet Paper/Soap/Aloe
Insect Repellant
Benadryl
Deoderant/Toothpaste/Toothbrush/Floss, etc.

There is other basis stuff in there, but that's what I remember off the top of my head. Of course, I also have the guns and ammo that are ready to go.

I still need a tent, but I need something that can house my wife and the dogs comfortably. Any thoughts?

Oh..here is a link to a site with free topigraphical maps if anyone wants it: http://www.digital-topo-maps.com/

I have a bunch of them actually.

I have one that is huge with rollers that stores all my handguns and ammo with foam cutouts for the range/SHTF and one that is yellow without foam for supplies.

I will try to find numbers.

1650 seems to be in my head.

yea, 1650 and 1600s.

The 1650 is bigger than it looks online. Full of pistols and ammo, it weighs a ton and is huge but it has wheels and I have a Suburban.

All of our jewelry, paperwork, passports, etc are in 2 gal ziplocks in the safe, throw in the yellow case and go.

Each of my cars has a pretty good kit in it already, so my hurricane stuff is in totes with my generator in the garage if we are staying here.

So basically, if SHTF, we yank the bags out of the safe, fill the 1650 with pistols (ammo and mags are already in it for pistols and rifles), grab the yellow 1600 for supplies, grab the rifles, load the Suburban and go.

1650

lol

here is the EMT 1600 in orange (mine is yellow with no foam or dividers)

I'm curious if you guys know how many bullets it takes to kill a hurricane? I wouldn't want to run out of ammo before I killed it!

You should buy this:

Stay in Canada, Aye.

Ever hear of civil unrest, riots, or looting after a natural disaster?

I have two bags ready. One is an apocalyptic impending nuclear strike bug-out-bag. The other is a Red Dawn/Zombie attack kit.

My BOB has MREs, my old Army uniforms, some warm clothes (gloves, hat, wool socks, etc.), a survival kit, and various other items. I have it sitting with my Battle Kit, and I'd take it all with me.

My Battle Kit is a holster, tactical vest, battle bag and a large Camelbak pack. I have a stash of magazines and ammunition sitting in my safe ready to go at all times, just in case. I also have batteries, lights, tools, a multi tool, and other stuff that I can survive on for a short period of time. In all reality, if a major event occurred, I'd have to go to my work, so I'd just have to make sure I was able to get there.
