My Ride: 330Ci
2003 330Ci vs. 2008 Rabbit

Both are around the same price range and I'm looking to get into a different car, the fastest is the oldest unfortunately and I think this is the perfect example of that saying that goes:
  • Old and fast won't be as reliable and is gonna cost me more money but look good...
  • new and reasonable and it won't look as good...
well that's my version anyway...

My rational side is telling me to get the newer car, my other side is telling me to get the 330ci....

My Ride: M3
How about e46 M3.. it's more rational than both of those options.

Getting an M3 is hardly "rational."

A sports car like an M3 is something you want, not need... hardly a rational purchase.

I'm only 21, a 2001 M3 would be at the top of my price range, will most likely be beat on and have a lot of miles, and if that wouldn't be enough I'd get raped on insurance... and after all that it'd be my only car to drive in the snow... I've thought about it but I just can't go that route right now as much as I'd love to. I'm trying to be responsible here, rational would be getting a piece of shit beater Honda until I graduate but come on now...

Rabbits are badass, I was thinking about picking one up a few yrs ago. I had an 03 330, they don't compare but you'll save on insurance and maintenance.

330 no doubt. Those VW's aren't any more reliable than the BMW.

My Ride: A car
330ci or go for an 06 Gti and chip it. Fun car, still economical, and pretty quick.

Depends on what you like/expect in a car. FWD drives a lot differently than RWD. So, every time you take a corner, you will be reminded of that in the VW, while in the BMW, the curves will put a smile on your face. On the other hand the VW is newer and cheaper. That will put a smile on our face.

Why am I being ignored? Get the damn 3 series, it's not going to be any more to maintain than the VW!
