Built in E46 N95 holder!!..... & some cool apps

Well not quite "built in", but it fits pretty securely in the sunglasses holder

Seeing as i am prob going to get an iPhone this summer i thought i'd mess around with various apps for the N95. Downloaded and installed Tomtom mobile (with E46ish color scheme), Racechrono and OBDscope the later both of which work with an ELMScan 327 bluetooth interface off ebay. Racechrono especially with its GPS and OBD monitoring allowing lap timer and accurate performance testing (0-60mph) looks pretty awesome. Here's some pics of how it looks:

Gonna try and make my own e46 map skin/color scheme, not found one that i fits so well so far.

looks pretty cool in the dark when you can't see the phone. i think it would be better suiting to use an n97 or 5800 because of the bigger display

Sort of......thats a Cheetah C100 GPS camera detector that can also hook up with various LIDAR detectors and switch them on and off with a little key fob..... but my LPP is currently out of action When stationary it shows the time, when moving its shows GPS speed and when you are approacing a camera it gives a distance count down in meters, d400, d350, d300.....etc except for on the highway. As you noticed I installed it behind the DSC rail, the trim piece pops out from the reverse side and I used a dremel to make neat cuts and theres "just" enough space for it to fit in.

I agree a bigger screen would be better, but as a (free ) extra, the tomtom software is handy if i need to get somewhere and ive forgotton my sat nav. And the racechrono software (free legitamately) is just awesome, gonna download the gps data for my local racetrack (Knockhill) and go there this summer. OBDscope looks ok too, handy... 7 day free trial right now, and even then its only $10.

Ya, i got that too from a certain 'bay', and also prefer it from a mapping point of view as well as having the bonus of being hacked so that you can use the internal gps, handy if you're out walking. Had to be installed in stages, but for some reason couldnt get the voice commands to work, when i uploaded those files I'll mess around with it see if i can sort it, but think its something to do with how the latest symbian V3 doesnt allow unsigned apps?

Still trying to wokr out whether to get another LPP or look for something else, the LPP doubles as a car park sensor which is important cause they're kinda on the boudaries of legality here in the UK. And from my general reading the LPP does a good job here in UK and europe.

garmin mobile xt allows you to use the internal gps of your phone. it's a symbian app just like the tom tom. i think the POI that it has is by far the best out of any nav that i've used. only thing is that you can't change the colors of the map to a custom color.

for the unsigned apps problem, you can just get a developer certificate and just sign the app yourself. takes care of that problem pretty much lol
