rear subframe removal tool?

sorry if this is in the wrong section. and i have searched.

now i need to replace all 7 bushes on the rear subframe of my E46 328CI.

to make things easyer i have got a secondhand subframe, which ive removed the old bushes out of (easy bit).

now im having problems of thinking of how to get the new ones in fully.

ive had a plan, and seen something simular on here somewhere.

large rod, a nut on the end, large washer then the bush, then something on the other end (piece of metal with hole in) that will grip hold of the subframe, then washer and nut on the end. then tighten the nuts.

now im pretty sure this would work to get the bush most of the way in, but the bush pokes out of the end 1/4 inch, so would need something else to get it fully in.

so any ideas? would i be able to hammer it the rest in?

or any better ways to make the tool?

cheers,
matt
