Aux Fan (puller) issue, questions, parts?

02 330i manual with the puller fan. Yesterday would not shut off and stayed on for over an hour, way past the 10 min BMW allowance. Only way to shut it off was to unplug the relay on the pass side of the fan housing.

I checked the fuse, #37, and its ok.
Checked the coolant temp sensor, seems ok.
Coolant level ok, no leaks, car temp in the green.

Anything else I should check?

Fan turns on and stays on, regardless if the car is hot or cold, ignition key in or not.

Based on my search here the fan relay is bad and the only repair option is whole new fan assembly? Part 17117561757.

Best price I found is, $253. Any other deals out there?

Ideas, comments, suggestions?

That's a pretty good deal. Did the new fan fix the problem with it running non-stop? I have the same problem I'm trying to resolve. I'm thinking I'll have to replace the fan. Let me know how the story ended for you. Thanks!
