Schmiedmann catback + headers review
So i saw this a few weeks ago just browsing , decided to buy it and here's my review of it
![]() The headers : http://www.schmiedmann.se/3_serien/e...ge12.htm#16694 Fitment is perfect , and the finish on the ports is good aswell. installing headers is always a PITA , but these ones made me almost cry since ; 1. If you have the studs left in the head , you'll have difficulties fitting the long header(cyl 1-3) 2. Lambda sensors have to be installed before headers going in( )3. They are quite large In the kit is a catback system aswell , the fitment of this is .. wierd , the post cat o2 sensors have their mountings pointed down to the ground (i'm afraid of driving and snapping them on something) And with these pipes you get a bracket that's supposed to support the pipes in the original mounting by the transmission, this bracket (made for this system) will not fit properly since the cat's come in contact with eachother. The pipes hang really low too... Headers are 5/5 Pipes are 2/5 (the cats and finish is really nice , fitment is crazy poor )Now on to the rear silencer; http://www.schmiedmann.se/3_series/E...ge30.htm#20230 It looks and sounds superb, fitment is really nice too , however the design is a bit wierd , as the pipes leading into the muffler goes down under the driveaxle really far, messing with your clearence over speedbumps etc. All in all , if you know how to modify it or you have someone install it ... then it's a 10/10 ![]() (im gonna find an muffler shop and have them give me some clearence) Pics and video : |

The single inlet non M3 muffler is a sweet deal at 660.00 bucks, but 200.00 for S&H made me steer away from purchase. ![]() I can get a Borla Cat-Back for around 800+ here instead |
