My Ride: 2000 328i Sedan
can someone please tell me if I have this?

I have a 2000 328i that I recently purchased. i want to add new wheels and tires...do i have TPMS on my current tires? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am learning as I go, thank you.

No. E46s did not come with TPMS.

To my knowledge, E46 M3's do not have an active or direct TPMS. The tire pressure warning light that you see comes on when the computer senses the rotational speed of the suspect tire is significantly slower than the other three...or something like that. As far as I know there is no actual sensor attached to the wheel monitoring that tire's air pressure.

Oops...I just noticed that the OP was asking about a non-M. Please ignore my post.

For absolutely no reason at all I am going to point out that a flat tire spins faster than the other three.

Yeah, you're right...because the lower tire pressure causes the overall diameter of the rotating mass to be shorter.
