How soon will you be attempting to pass inspection? In for the results.

Tomorrow or Wednesday is the plan.
I'm putting in the final numbers into the simulator. We'll see how things go.

Well not many (if anyone) in my area does or tries this, so I am virtually the first.

The OBD2 protocol for European cars after 1995 (BMW) is ISO.

here's the list for the protocols per vehicle and year it becomes ISO 14230-4 which is different from the iso your using, i'm done trying to detour you from using this for this purpose and what makes it worse your posting up what your doing, so go ahead do it knock yourself out i don't know what i'm talking about i mean my automotive degree, doesn't mean **** and the fact that i am also certified to do inspections here in NY but it seems like you know more than i do.

the protocol for most euro cars is KWP2000 there's no doubt hes gonna past what he should be worried about is what comes after

That's fine. I understand where you're coming from and I am not denying your knowledge of these things. However, emissions here is not the same as it is over in NY. Whatever you tell me, I will still try it. Nothing will happen to me, I'm not worried, so why are you? Thank you for your input.

I went in today and no dice
Error kept popping up on their computers. When I plug into my OBD2 reader though, all monitors are ready, no errors nothing. WTF!
Error was something with False PID or something like that. I can't remember exactly what the error message said.

I e-mailed the guys to see why all OBD2 controllers work fine with it, but the state's computers don't.
We'll see what they say. I will most likely just switch my insurance to "race car" insurance, that way I am exempt from all emissions tests. Should have done that a long time ago, but I wanted to find another solution so that everyone can prosper from a much easier stand point.

I just got an e-mail back from the guys at Immense Hardware and they said they will send me a BETA firmware version that solves PID related issues/problems/error messages!
Stay Tuned!

All you need to do is clear the code, let the car sit a day, do a 5 min cold start, do the two driving sequences to set the remaining codes, then drive into the inspection and pass. Done this 3 times now no problems. It comes back on a few days later.

Money is everything. If can't pay for stickers you shouldn't be ****ing with cars. Why do fail? No cats? If that is the case just put cats on then remove after. I had a AA kit and was able to pass. I'm hpf and there is noway in hell I pass but I do every year. I'm from pa.
