low coolant prevented engine start?
I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone finds him/herself in the same situation as i couldnt find anything similar through a search.
For the last 3-4 days my low coolant light would come on for about a minute then go away. I figured it must be barely below the threshold to trip the light since it went away after a bit. Also the temperature never went above normal. I figured I'd get some more coolant next time i went to the store. Went to go to work one morning & the car wouldnt start. The gauge cluster lit up and all electronics came on but the the motor would not turn over and there was no ticking sound. I did notice the red (far right) segment of the temp gauge light up when i tried to start it though. Searched the forums & found recommended fixes including need of new key (bad transmitter), bad starter, & bad fuses. I decided to see if topping the coolant would fix the problem. It did. Car now starts fine & everything is back to normal.
The moral of the story is dont be an idiot like me, take care of basic maintenance ASAP.
