Steet headers...

Hey guys thanks to aggie's help i just installed my magnaflow and love it. However next step is headers and was wondering if 70,000 miles is too late to start spending money on more mods? How hard and long can we drive these cars for? How many miles do you have on your e46?

If you take care of the engine it will last a very long time. Friend of mine has a 328i - he put an AA supercharge on it when he had 150K on the dial - it now has 240K and still makes good power - never any real problems. Oh yeah, and he's running a custom AA setup with a larger blower and 15 or so psi. So, in short, if you take care of it you should be fine for a long time.

+1, if you want to spend the money to mod it, make sure and spend the money to maintain it first. As long as you do that there's no reason they can't last a long, long time.

Here's my feedback. Buy the Stett headers and install them yourself. You'll learn a ton about your car and you'll appreciate the mod more.

+1, I have never been more aggravated at my car than when I installed my headers. But now that I've done it I could do it again in less than half the time, and I feel confident enough to take pretty much any other job my car can throw at me. You won't regret it.

Lol, sure why not. It's a bunch of bolts and tolerances, as long as you do enough research before you dive into it and take your time there's no reason it shouldn't be doable. That being said I would probably just get an m54/s54 waaaaay before rebuilding the 'ol m52 lol.
