The Origin of the BMW Roundel - Be ready for a Surprise

Inside white and blue. Bordered in black. With the letters BMW. For more than 90 years this is the symbol for sheer driving pleasure. But how was this logo developed?

Watch to find out, the results are going to surprise you -

Sorry,

I knew for years it was based on the national colours of Bavaria, but no... everybody had to parrot the airplane propeller myth. Just like those who call the cars "Beemers."

Then again, after WWII it was certainly in BMW's best interest to disassociate itself with the German war machine and Germany in general (of which Bavaria is a part - not to mention the home of the Nazi party). So... would you try to sell a car with German colours on it after the war (or let the propeller myth spread)?

Whoever put this together... thanks.

Mac

it still doesn't answer the question on how it was done...its answers about 70% of the question...yeah we know why the colors and the round circle was chosen but why the propeller effect in the middle if it wasn't meant to symbolize their success in airplane design? did i miss that part?
