If you remove the filter from the back of the LCD, cut around it on normal white printer paper and put that in its place it will work fine with other colours. Only colour i can't get to look good is white... My blue looks OK now though it has a thicker filter in.

Have any of you guys swapped the radio? I see a lot of your guys with aftermarket dashes. I haven't figured out why my radio hasn't worked.

Changing the LCD from orange is easy, its just a few extra LED's.
I left mine orange as i liked the contrast, but if you look at my aircon lcd you can see how easy it is

oh, also you do need to take off the orange film from the back of the LCD.
Be very careful not to leave fingerprints, it will bug you later if not.
There is also a darker film polarised filter on the back, dont discard it, and put it back in the right way up :-)

Dont use paper, as really its just thin translucent wood!!

What you need is white plastic that still looks white when you hold it up to the sun.. The first thing I found was an ice cream plastic tub...Worked like a charm.
Just have a look around the home, im sure you can find something better than thin translucent wood

actually it's not. while changing the lcd is easy, making it appear white is hard. you can make it red/blue or whatever, but just not white. it turns to peach, that's the closest i've made it to white

How odd. It shouldn't do that.
Can you provide us with a picture?
