21, full time student. Im currently detailing boats (30-50ft boats) at a few of the local marinas. The muddy Mississippi ensures I have work to do every weekend.

you have to understand the people that jump from car to car often have NO MONEY

they are usually making poor financial decisions and rolling over debt.

No offense to some members on the group but there are dudes making less than $35K driving in fairly new cars - lol like leasing a $40k car - wtf - the car is worth more than what you make in a year!

OP just be sensible - good luck!

It wasn't taken as such....there are plenty of them around banks. I'm the regional financial planner and I have one direct report. Regardless of that, I'm the youngest vp in my division nation-wide....not a bad job, imo.

It ranges from bank to bank, region to region, department to department. Seniority has a lot to do with it, as well.

32, have the family business and looking to expand to other opportunities....

Make enough to afford the toys, houses, and wife with a baby on the way!

Manage your money wisely. Remember that your car should only cost about 1/3 of your yearly income. So if you make 100K/year. Buy a 33K car.

Quite surprised at how many people are discussing how much they actually make. Sort of a taboo subject where I am from.

What IBD group are you in? And I'm assuming it is a small regional boutique, being that you are in Montreal, right?

Was in Equity Research for 2.5 years, just moved over to the credit group (they split the M&A/Equity and Debt groups)

work for one of the canadian BBs, not regional at all around here
but you're right US BBs don't have a meaningful presence here, if at all

what about ya
